Job Location: The Family Support Division is seeking applicants for the position of Area Supervisor, Business
Enterprise Program for the Blind within Rehabilitation Services for the Blind. This position will
be based in Jackson County at 615 East 13th ST, Kansas City, MO.
This is professional work in planning, developing and supervising a specialized and individualized program of food service, retail sales, machine vending, and other business enterprises for blind persons. An employee in this class is responsible for the development and installation of vending facilities in public and private sector buildings and for the placement and supervision of blind persons as contracted managers of business enterprises. Work includes a variety of services carried out in behalf of the managers of vending facilities and other business enterprises. Although the Area Supervisor is not a supervisor of state employees, the position involves direction of activities and individuals in federal, state, and privately owned facilities. These businesses are operated by blind managers who have been licensed by the Division of Family Services. The blind managers operate as independent contractors, but are subject to federal and state regulations.

Graduate work in an accredited college or university in public or business administration, accounting, marketing, public relations, hotel and restaurant management, or related areas may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the specified experience.)
